Jones,an occasional columnist forThe AgeandSydney Morning Herald,served as Cricket Australia’s general manager of strategy from 2010-12 and CEO of Cricket New South Wales from 2013-19. He is currently the interim CEO of Netball NSW.
During his involvement in cricket,Jones was a key figure in the development of the Big Bash (the BBL and WBBL),and the professionalisation of the women’s game.
He has recently led The Killer Group,which specialises in growing select businesses and advising boards and CEOs on strategy and major projects.
Jones helped Racing Victoria and its clubs in the formation of the Victorian Thoroughbred Racing Integrated Media Business and served as interim CEO of Racing.com for five months last year.
In announcing Jones as the new CEO,Racing Victoria chairman Brian Kruger said:“Andrew will join Racing Victoria with a wealth of business,strategy and sports administration experience,coupled with a unique understanding of the VRTIMB thanks to his advisory work in our media business and his time as interim chief executive of Racing.com last year.
