He entered pleas of guilty to a string of charges, including the same aggravated burglary, stealing and property damage charges that Richmond AFL star Marlion Pickett has been slapped with.
Pickett has yet to enter a plea but is back before the same court next Wednesday,
Pickett,31, on June 11 in relation to the alleged theft of more than $300,000 in a spate of commercial burglaries, some of which involved the ransacking of safes at currency exchange businesses.
He’s also alleged to have been part of a plan to transport that money across the country in a campervan.
Pickett’s lawyer indicated at the time he would be pleading not guilty to all of the charges.
The offending is alleged to have taken place across a series of Perth suburbs over a few weeks last summer when Pickett had been visiting family and recovering from surgery to repair a hand he had broken in training in November.
Thorne was also charged with the same offences, and the court was told on Wednesday he “was in the company of another person” when he admitted stealing a locked safe containing more than $18,000 worth of property from a business in Bindoon and stole from an IGA in the same town.
Thorne also admitted he was one of two people who stole around $320,000 from a locked safe at a Girrawheen money transfer company.

The 30-year-old also pleaded guilty to a long list of separate child sex abuse charges, including indecently recording a child under 13 years and the sexual penetration of a child of the same age in Bunbury and Carey Park between March and April this year. Pickett has no connection to these charges.
On Wednesday,Thorne spoke only to acknowledge he understood the charges that were before him and that he was pleading guilty to all of them. He will come back before the District Court on February 2 and is remanded in custody until then.
Pickett is due to appear in Perth Magistrates Court on December 6.
