Skincare entrepreneur Emma Lewisham’s top beauty tip came from her grandmother

Each fortnight,Stephanie Darling gets inside the head of an industry expert or media personality. This week, she talks to Emma Lewisham. Her eponymous natural skincare brand, based on clean and green ingredients, gained cult status overnight. It was born after she lost her mother to breast cancer, which causeda seismic shift in the ingredients she put on her face and on her plate.

“My grandmother taught me there’s nothing more beautiful than someone who is interesting, kind, warm and comfortable in who they are.”

Byredo’s “De Los Santos” EDP (mecca.com.au,$341 for 100ml) is my yummy new go-to fragrance for spring. It’s enough to make you swoon, with aromatic musk, sage, amber and incense grounded by iris root and mirabelle plum, all capped with cistus rock rose.

Ask Steph

Is dry-brushing skin a good way to exfoliate?
Dry-brushing is great for exfoliation and circulation. Work the brush in light circular motions, starting at your hands and feet and gently moving towards your heart. This also helps with lymphatic drainage. Try Elemis Body Detox Skin Brush (au.elemis.com,$46).
