Now both the giant kewpie doll he danced with as part of theLove Is in the Air sequence, and the pink showgirl outfit that Kylie Minogue wowed audiences with during the closing night ceremony, are part of a collection he helped curate at the Powerhouse Museum.
He and the curatorial team, led by former Powerhouse trustee Leo Schofield, spent two years trawling through more than half a million objects that are part of the museum’s collection to create this exhibition, which includes objects that have never been on display before.
The1001 Remarkable Objectsexhibition includes decorative arts, jewellery, costumes, textiles, furniture, clocks, musical instruments, industrial design such as mousetrap makers and social history.
