It seems a number of international mega-stars have managed to slip into Melbourne without much fanfare,overshadowed by the Australian Open and its global tennis icons.

American-born Irish actress Saoirse Ronan and her Scottish actor boyfriendJack Lowden jetted into Melbourne in recent weeks likely unnoticed asNovak Djokovic took up the media’s attention prior to having his visa cancelled.

Emerald City can reveal the pair,who began dating after they starred together as husband and wife in the 2018 filmMary Queen Of Scots, have taken in many cultural delights Melbourne has to offer since arriving earlier this month.

Lowden shared his delight on Instagram after a visit to The Lume digital museum for the Vincent van Gogh exhibition. Last week a spy told Emerald City the couple could be seen lining up just like any other local for tacos and tequila at Fitzroy bar and restaurant Little Hop.

On Thursday night the pair sat courtside donning facemasks cheering on Scotsman and former world No.1Andy Murray who was stunned by Japanese qualifier Taro Daniel in straight sets in the second round of the Australian Open on Thursday.

Ronan,27,who is best known for her award-winning performance inBrooklyn,is in town to film an adaptation ofIain Reid’s bestselling science fiction novelFoe– starring alongside Irish hunkPaul Mescal andLakeith Stanfield. Based on the book of the same name,Ronan and Mescal will play a husband and wife living in a dystopian world.

Twitter exploded last week when sightings of Mescal,best known for his role as Connell Waldron,a handsome and insecure sports star with budding anxiety issues inNormal People, was spotted in Melbourne’s north.

An eagle-eyed fan revealed the polite actor who posed for a selfie at the traffic lights was just like a regular local,shopping at Coles on Brunswick Street after their encounter.

Unlike Ronan and Lowden,US actor Sean Penn wasn’t impressed he was made to wait in line like a local while attempting to dine at a Bondi hotspot,one day after Emerald City revealed he quietly arrived in Sydney.

TheI Am Sam actor and his estranged wife,Australian actressLeila George were spied lining up for a table at seafood restaurant RAW Bar.

A fellow diner revealed Penn was overheard complaining to George about having to wait for a table.

The pair have flown under the radar since Emerald City revealed he was visiting Down Under,a number of local paparazzi’s continue to spy out their whereabouts photographing the pair during his trip to Sydney.

Popular US reality showBelow Deck is in the midst of filming Down Under and is scouting for regular passengers on social media. In 2019 Emerald City revealed the series was set to launch an Australian series of the popular show aboard the super yacht Mischief,owned by rich lister and ex garbo Ahoy Club CEOIan Malouf.

Last week Emerald City came across an advertisement from production scouting for guests to jump aboard for season 2 that kicks off filming in April and May.

“Searching for guests who want to be pampered but also adventurous!!!” the post read.

“For Below Deck Down Under,[a] new series that focuses on activities underwater,the most amazing toys and experiences in the ocean.”

Since 2013,the reality series has documented the lives of super yacht crew members as they work aboard a luxury charter yacht and has launched spinoffsBelow Deck Mediterranean andBelow Deck Sailing Yacht. The new season that’s being filmed in the Whitsunday Islands is set to air on January 28th on reality streaming platform Hayu.
