Ben McDonald, chief executive of Matrix Media Group, reported the singer’s father to the NSW police in the early hours of February 27,claiming the 71-year-old got physical with him when disembarking a super-yacht alongside his daughter.

The paparazzo said he had been trying to get photographs of the superstar when her security guards allegedly pushed him with their umbrellas.

“Then her dad decided to add to the mix and throw a punch in,” McDonald,51,alleged at the time.

No one required medical attention following the incident.

At the time of the incident a spokesperson for Swift alleged that “two individuals were aggressively pushing their way towards Taylor, grabbing at her security personnel, and threatening to throw a female staff member into the water”.

Swift’s father was permitted to leave Australia near the end of February while NSW police continued the investigation.

The singer’s father, who is often affectionately referred to as “Papa Swift” by fans, was in Sydney to support his daughter as she performed the Australian leg of herEras Tour. His random acts of kindness were a signature element of her shows down under, with some fans reporting hegave VIP tickets to several Swifties who had restricted view seats. He was also seen handing out free fruit and sandwiches at one of the Sydney shows.

He went on to join his daughter in Singapore in March, where she performed the Southeast Asian leg of her tour.
