“It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today,” his family said in a statement. “As an artist,a friend,a brother and a son,Angus was special to all of us in so many ways.

“Last week he buried his father and intensely struggled with this loss. The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad,who was his best friend. Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence.

“We hope the world remembers him for his humour, laughter and love for everyone. We ask for privacy at this time as we are still processing this devastating loss,” Cloud’s family concluded.

On social media the team behindEuphoriaexpressed their condolences to Cloud’s family and friends, and described him as an “immensely talented and a beloved part of the HBO andEuphoria family”.

On the show,Cloud’s character Fezco was both a drug dealer and close friend to Zendaya’s Rue Bennett.

Cloud, who did not train as an actor, toldVariety in 2022 how he wasplucked off the street by a casting agent, walking through Brooklyn one night, for his role onEuphoria - his first gig.

“I was with some friends,” he said. “We were just hanging out.” He then read for casting director Jennifer Venditti, who was keen to populate the series with naturalistic actors.

“They were asking me weird questions, like, what’s the funnest thing I ever did. It’s hard to answer. I do a lot of fun stuff.” He told them a story of breaking into a zoo.

Cloud had worked in a chicken and waffles restaurant, and toldVariety didn’t expect acting would be so exhausting.

“It surprised me,” he says,“because I’m not in there sweating and busting my ass,but mentally,I get off work, get in the car and go,‘Shit! What the f--k? I’m tired as f--k,and not even doing shit!’ I’m a pretty easygoing, goofy guy. But Fezco doesn’t laugh or smile too much. I’ll be like this all day” — he scrunched his face — “and I gotta release my eyebrows.”

Cloud also appeared in two films,North HollywoodandThe Line, and featured in music videos for Noah Cyrus and Juice WRLD.
