When it comes to Sydney food venue openings,Surry Hills 2010 really is the gift that keeps on giving.
The postcode, just couple of months away from welcoming new food outlets at theAce Hotel Sydney and Nomad spin-off,Beau, has just added a woman-powered Italian eatery,Giuls, and now has a new daytime rooftop offering.
A.P. House by All Purpose Bakery has landed on the all-weather rooftop at Paramount House, next door to Paramount Recreation Club.
Its team is a roll-call of hospitality expertise, with chef Mat Lindsay (Ester,Poly),Russell Beard (Reuben Hills,Paramount Coffee Project),baker Dougal Muffet and Paramount House and Golden Age owner,Ping Jin Ng.
A.P. Bakery's Darlinghurst site was supposed to open last year, but with that location facing repeated delays, the public can now get its hands on baked specialties including buckwheat pain au choc,a fresh coconut and mango danish and smoked brisket pie.
It also has a clever daytime menu with crispy bacon, curry leaf butter, hot sauce and fermented potato bread, kale salad and an A.P. cheeseburger.
Open Thu-Fri 7am-3pm;Sat-Sun 7.30am-4pm.
