“I’m very disappointed,I was hoping to make this announcement standing next to the Prime Minister today and the Treasurer[Josh] Frydenberg,” Mr Kean said. “But they’re not to be found.

“These are not just NSW businesses,they are Australian businesses … that pay their taxes to the Commonwealth government,Australian businesses that are doing it so tough at this time.
“So what we want to see is rather than the Commonwealth government stepping aside,we want to see the Commonwealth government stepping in like the NSW government is doing to support small business and in so doing supporting our national economy because that’s in everyone’s interest.”
Mr Morrison and Mr Frydenberg were not available for comment on Sunday. Federal Finance Minister Simon Birmingham rejected Mr Kean’s claim that the states were doing the heavy lifting. He said more than $63 billion of taxpayer funding had gone into NSW alone.
“We’ve provided more than $300 billion in support for the economy to get businesses through COVID-19,” Senator Birmingham said.
