Car hits mum and two young children in Double Bay crash

A mother and her two young children have escaped serious injury after being hit by a car while crossing a road in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.

At 9.30am on Monday,the 30-year-old woman was crossing New South Head Road in Double Bay with her daughter,aged one,and son,aged two,in a pram.

The two babies and the mother luckily escaped serious injuries. The younger child was taken to the Sydney Children’s Hospital in Randwick in a stable condition,while the older child and the mother were treated by paramedics at the scene.

The male driver,30,was uninjured and has undergone mandatory testing.

The area,near the Woollahra Council building,was established as a crime scene and police are investigating the cause of the crash.

Traffic was heavy on New South Head Road on Monday morning,but the road was cleared by 11.20am.
