Police were called to reports of a Toyota Landcruiser being driven dangerously in Surry Hills about 11pm on Thursday.
A pursuit was initiated when police say the driver failed to stop as directed at the major intersection of South Dowling and Cleveland streets.
“The vehicle,a Toyota Landcruiser – reportedly stolen from a Queensland address – continued along South Dowling Street before crashing into approximately thirty vehicles – both moving and stationary – before stopping,near the intersection of Crescent Street,” NSW Police said in a statement on Saturday.
“Four people were seen fleeing on foot before allegedly getting into an Uber.”
On Friday afternoon,a 22-year-old man,two boys aged 12 and 17,and a 16-year-old girl were arrested at a home in Bossley Park,in the city’s west,and taken to Fairfield police station.
Nine News reported the 12-year-old boy allegedly stole his father’s keys before the four travelled more than 1000 kilometres from Palmview in Queensland to Sydney.
The 17-year-old boy was charged with driving unlicensed,dangerous driving and not stopping amid a police pursuit,driving recklessly/furiously or at a speed or in a manner dangerous,driving a stolen car,destroying or damaging property and not giving particulars to another driver.
The teenager was refused bail and is due to face a children’s court on Saturday.
Meanwhile,the 22-year-old man was also charged with being unlicensed and driving a stolen car,and will face Parramatta bail court on Saturday.
Police said the 16-year-old girl would be “dealt with” under the Young Offenders Act.
