I’ve been flooded with messages from people struggling with all modes of transport across Sydney this afternoon. Thanks for getting in touch.
My personal favourite,however,is from David.
“I went into JB HI-FI and bought four drones. I plan on tying them together and have them fly me home. Wish me luck!” he writes.
Godspeed,David.
Marc Pearce started his journey home trying to get a bus from Parramatta Road.
“Every bus was set down only and not accepting any passengers. The queues at bus stops just continued to grow and grow so I ended up walking home,” he said.
“Unbelievable that Uber would gouge like this - I did have a look and it was double what I would normally pay and not hundreds of dollars.”
Matt Neenan was in a pickle because he needed to catch a flight after work. He was in Meadowbank.
“Waited on the station for 45 mins. Decided to snaffle an Uber before prices went nuts. Made my flight, which is now delayed!”
Roslyn Goddard has also reached out after attempting to get the 2.48pm train to the Blue Mountains.
“It never left! An hour and a half later we were told to leave the train. Mass confusion and chaos at Central[Station]. Almost no communication from station staff,” she said.
“I’ve been on and off two further trains in the last hour. Neither have left. As of 5.11pm the train to Katoomba has left. Huge cheers from the packed carriage! Not sure how long the two-hour trip will take.”
Keep on sending them through.
