The school was put into lockdown and police were called,which led to the arrest of a 15-year-old boy.Rose Bay Secondary School before class.Police were told that the boy showed another student what appeared to be a firearm before allegedly firing at him.
A pellet from the ball-bearing style firearm – known as a BB gun or air gun – struck the student. No injuries were reported.
The partially selective school in Sydney’s eastern suburbs was immediately put into lockdown and police were called.
Rose Bay Secondary School before class.The 15-year-old was arrested and taken to Surry Hills Police Station,where he was charged with possessing an unregistered,unauthorised pistol in a public place,stalking and intimidating with intent to cause fear of physical harm,and firing a firearm in or near a public place.
He was refused bail and spent the night in police custody. He is due to appear before a children’s court on Friday.
A NSW Department of Education spokesperson said the student has been suspended and that support is being provided to students and staff.
