Their abandoned campsite was located on a remote station called Polelle Pastoral Station,approximately 60 kilometres south of Meekatharra,about 6pm on Saturday.
A WA Police spokeswoman said it was not clear how long they had been missing prior to the empty campsite being reported to authorities by the station owner.
“Upon inspection it is believed the campsite is that of James and Ray and that they have failed to return after prospecting,” she said.
“It is not known how long the campsite has been unattended for.”
Local police,emergency operations units,SES,drones and aircraft were deployed to the area to look for the two men.
On Tuesday police said both men had been located deceased but that their deaths were not being considered suspicious.
They said a report would be prepared for the coroner.
