Perth’s evolving pub scene will soon be boosted with another fresh new offering with the cobweb-covered Claremont Hotel due to soon finish its makeover in time to open for the summer.

The Claremont Hotel has been the cornerstone of Bayview Terrace since 1902 and served pints to all walks of life,located conveniently across the road from the Claremont train station.

The locally adored venue will receive a revamp to both restore and uphold its original charm while adding a variety of new facilities.

The hotel will showcase a rooftop bar,public bar,dining room,courtyard and function room spanning two stories – and a playground too.

The Claremont Hotel’s management is teasing punters with sparse information at this stage,but they say a new selection of spaces will be perfect for “footy with a parmi and pint” and “Saturday brunch or a cheeky Sunday session.”

Claremont Hotel’s famous Thursday nights and Sunday sessions are eagerly anticipated by locals with many demanding a pint with their friends for old times sake.

The hotel had been collecting dust after closing its doors due to Covid-19 back in 2020,but with upgraded public transport to the quarter and more access than ever,there’s no doubt that will become a distant memory in a matter of months.

The new owners,Australian Venue Co.,have shown love to several downtrodden venues around Perth such as the Bassendean Hotel,Guildford Hotel and Victoria Park Hotel.

The Bassendean Hotel project was completed on September 21,with emphasis on Australian Venue Co.’s aim to revitalise with respect to the original architecture.

Australian Venue Co. chief executive officer Paul Waterson said the Bassendean Hotel’s makeover should reflect its significance in the community and uphold its allure.

“It’s a beautiful local pub with close ties to the community. We are looking forward to delivering a vibrant venue that they can enjoy for many years to come,” he said.

“The highly anticipated,newly renovated venue will restore this heritage hotel to its full glory. Casual contemporary finishes perfectly complementing the heritage structure of this grand old building.”
