The 15-year-old was killed while walking home from school in Perth in October 2022,with his death sparking outrage across the country. One man,Jack Steven James Brearley,21,had already been charged with murder over the incident.

On Thursday,WA Police charged two men and a woman aged in their 20s with murder.

They will allege that the trio were with Brearley when Cassius was assaulted.

Major Crime Homicide Squad officers said their investigation into the death was ongoing and extensive.

In November thousands of people attended rallies across Australia to remember the Noongar Yamatji boy who police allege was attacked with a metal pole.

Cassius was wearing his school uniform and walking with friends when they were allegedly confronted by a utility full of people while walking along a Middle Swan street about 4.30pm on October 13.

His family claim the teen was accused of smashing a car window the previous day, before he was chased down by one of the occupants of the vehicle and bashed with a metal pole.

Cassius’ friends who were at the scene claim that the people from the ute hurled racial slurs at them.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said at the time:“This attack, that clearly is racially motivated, just breaks your heart.”
