Woman,pet dog die after crash in Perth’s north

A woman and one of her pet dogs have died after the car she was driving crashed into a bus on a school route in Perth’s north on Monday morning.

The woman’s white Hyundai i30 hatchback caught fire after it crashed into the back of a Transperth bus on the 344 school bus route along Warwick Road about 8am.

A woman has died after the car she was driving collided with a bus carrying children on their way to school.

The 50-year-old woman was taken by ambulance to hospital,where she died a short time later.

Three dogs were also in the car at the time of the crash. One died at the scene and the other two dogs were located by rangers after running away.

It is suspected the woman may have suffered a medical event,and witnesses told9News Perth passersby gave the woman CPR and attempted to save her dog.

A Transperth statement said the 48-year-old female bus driver was not injured,while one passenger,a student,was taken to hospital.

The bus,which had about 30 passengers on board,was stationary when the Hyundai rear-ended it,the statement said.
