Amonumental election result for Labor last Saturday night means Chris Minns is the party’s first NSW premier in 12 years,after being sworn in on Tuesday morning.

Laborripped the heart out of the Liberals in Sydney,snatching at least seven seats includingPenrith,Parramatta andEast Hills to form what is expected to be a majority government.

When counting paused on the night of March 25,nine seats were still in doubt.Winston Hills was the first to be called Monday morning,retainedby the Liberals.Willoughby followed after 2pm,againretainedby the Liberals despite a 19.85 per cent swingagainst them.

On Tuesday morning,theHerald called Oatley for the Liberals,whileWollondilly was snatched byteal-aligned independent Judy Hannan. Later,Pittwater was called for Liberal Rory Amon.

On Wednesday morning,the seat ofMiranda in Sydney’s south was called for the Liberals. By the afternoon,Kiama was called for Liberal-turned-independent Gareth Ward.

On Friday afternoon theHeraldcalled the seat ofGoulburn for incumbent Liberal MP Wendy Tuckerman. On Saturday,Terrigaland Holsworthywere also retained by the Liberals.
