Next up is a question about cost of living, and both leaders have addressed their answers towards voters in the west.
Perrottet pointed to the $7 billion provided in the Coalition government’s most recent budget to address cost of living pressures, energy bill relief, active kids vouchers and toll rebates. He then brought the conversation back to the major infrastructure projects his government had undertaken.
“By building the motorways,we ensure that people will spend more time with their families. That’s what it’s all about, that’s what my government is all about.”
Minns used the question to again bring up privatisation, and Labor’s policies on toll roads, which includes making public multi-billion-dollar government tolling contracts and capping tolls at $60 per week.
“We’ve seen many people that live in western Sydney,as a result of tolls,be crippled just because they have to get to and from work,” he said. “You shouldn’t be penalised because you live in a suburb that doesn’t have great access to public transport in NSW.”
