Question:How pleased are you with that response?
Answer:Good night for us … We’ve had some good starts[to matches] here and there this year already. It’s[an] important night.
Q:What about the performance itself - what were the most pleasing aspects?
A:Not too many[players] didn’t have an influence. That’s pretty important for us. I’ve been impressed with St Kilda’s tenacity and their work ethic. And their willingness to compete and[they] kept coming. So even though we had a bit of a margin[for most of the match],we were never really comfortable.
Q:Given the noise around[what was the pressure on] the Bulldogs coming into this game?
A:After last week we had a good chat after the game. There’s a real closeness within our football club. The theme from the players is stick together, obviously, off field and on field. We talked about the cohorts within the group. The different roles that they play that are similar and how they help each other. There was some real cohesion and uniformity in that. Between the players and their conversations and our coaches, building them into tonight’s performance,I thought everyone did an outstanding job.
We had a six-day break. The Saints obviously[were] under bit more pressure with the five-day break. That’s[a] challenge for them ... You never know how that’s going to work out. Little project[tonight] – she’s closed.
We haven’t always bounced out of healthy wins …[it’s our challenge to give] a good account of ourselves in Perth against Fremantle next week.
Q:Aaron Naughton tonight,I know it’s not about the goals. It must be nice to see him kick a few,in a good performance like that?
A:We were pleased for him. He doesn’t covet necessarily kicking half a dozen like he did. He does all the team things. He competes like there’s no tomorrow and I love the fact he’s able to get some reward for himself. Yeah,he’s such an important player for us.
