You couldn’t fault the Windies’ valiant chase in freezing conditions and their exciting partnership of King and Charles gave Australia relative cause for concern with 53 and 42 respectively. Holder also fought to the end with a brilliant 34 off 15 balls.
It wasn’t enough as they fell just short, losing by 11 runs. The Windies were also quelled by the excellent Adam Zampa with 3/26.
Warner will rightfully get plaudits for his 70 that helped Australia set a challenging total of 214,but he was also ably supported by Inglis and David with 39 and 37 respectively.
There will be a renewed hope for the Windies in Adelaide.
