Farewell,sports fans

More than six hours ago the excitement was all around. Hope sprung eternal,Taylor had arrived and NFL fans were gearing up for what they hoped was something special.

The incredible final stages meant that only 49ers fans will be unhappy. That was some great entertainment.

Here is the match report from everything that went down.

Predictions for next year

They’ll all be coming for the Chiefs again – but so long as Mahomes,Reid and that defence are there you shouldn’t bet against them. Now,watch everyone do just that.

There is no reason the 49ers can’t be really good again next year, but after two Super Bowl losses in the last five years,do they have enough?

2025 Super Bowl winner – Chiefs

2025 MVP – Josh Allen

Where does this leave the two teams?

That’s four Super Bowl wins for the Chiefs in six appearances.

For the 49ers,their record slips to 5-3 in the biggest game of the year.

KC coach Andy Reid now has three Super Bowl wins – only Bill Belichick (six) and Chuck Noll (four) have won more as coaches.

As for 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan, his undoubted talent is still yet to result in him winning the game that matters most. It would be harsh, but anyone who wants to call him a “nearly man” can start revving that engine.

Entertainment wrap

The stars were out in Las Vegas for the Super Bowl. Here is the wrap of all the action.

Where does Mahomes sit among greats?

Patrick Mahomes is just 28 years old. Only Tom Brady (seven),Joe Montana and Terry Bradshaw (both four),have more Super Bowl titles than him. While Brady is still streets ahead,it’s not beyond the realm to think Mahomes could catch him.

Kelce delivers cringeworthy speech

If Patrick Mahomes is cool and composed on the podium ... Travis Kelce is the complete opposite.

The Chiefs’ tight end was handed the microphone after Mahomes speech, and let’s just say Taylor Swift looked less than impressed with his “Viva Las Vegas” chant into the microphone ...

Mahomes:The Chiefs are never underdogs

For those playing along at home, the Chiefs dumped a container of purple Gatorade over coach Andy Reid before the trophy presentation.

Reid kept his victory speech short and sweet, saying that the team “dominated right at the end there,it was beautiful”.

But it was quarterback Mahomes who brought it home. Despite being the underdogs for their past three play-off games,Kansas City have become the first back-to-back Super Bowl champions in 19 years.

“Really just the whole game was our whole entire season,it was the defence keeping us in there, and the offence making us plays when it counted,” he said.

“The Kansas City Chiefs are never underdogs.”

Let the celebrations begin

The Chiefs’ way

“When we go down 10,we turn into a different animal.” Mecole Hardman summed up the fighting spirit of the Chiefs with one sentence.
