Who are the Daigous?
Daigous,or shopping agents, can be anyone. Anyone based overseas who shops for goods based on a Chinese customer's shopping list and ships the goods to China. Daigous are usually students who are studying overseas,or people who have migrated from China to another country who want to help friends and family,or earn extra money.
How does Daigou work?
The Chinese find a Daigou agent by asking who has family and friends overseas,or by reaching out on social media to find someone who is available to buy products for them. Sites such as WeChat and Weibo help connect Daigou with their customers, even to the point of the two parties holding live chats inside supermarkets and stores.
The customer gives the Daigou agent their shopping list and usually makes a down payment. Once the Daigou agent buys the goods, they ask for a full payment, along with their commission. The goods soon arrive right on the customer's doorstep.
What do Daigous buy?
Daigou agents buy products all around the world and ship them back to China through the post or couriers. Australia and New Zealand are famous for good food, milk products and vitamins,France for fashion and beauty products,Switzerland for milk products, and the United States for fashion brands and beauty products.
