A coroner has ruled Sydney teenager Winona Langford was killed in the eruption.

The 17-year-old Langford was travelling with her parents Anthony,51,and Kristine,46,and older brother Jesse,19.

Jesse,a University of Technology Sydney student, survived the eruption with severe burns and was among nine Australians flown to hospitals in Sydney for treatment.

More than 700 mourners attended a memorial service for Kristine,Anthony and Winona last month at Sydney's Marist College North Shore.

The extended Langford family said in a statement in late December that Kristine and Anthony were loving parents and"a wonderful couple and devoted to both their immediate and extended families".

"They will be greatly missed by all who knew them,"the family said, adding that Jesse was receiving"excellent care".

Of the 20 killed in the eruption,18 died in New Zealand and two passed away later in Australian hospitals.
