The Waratahs take on Moana Pasifika on Saturday afternoon in Auckland and with star flanker Michael Hooper in doubt due to a head knock, the Tahs know their first trans-Tasman road trip since February 2020 will only get tougher if there is an emotional let-down following the big win at Leichhardt Oval.
“In the past we have had the tendency to get a bit complacent after a good win or a good performance so we are making sure we are focussed on Moana and they are a dangerous side,” Holloway said.
“It started with a pretty decent review on Monday. ‘DC’[Coleman] has done a pretty good job of letting us enjoy the moment, and enjoy the result.
“But once we are back in here Monday it is straight back into what we do,and that’s reviewing our game. Even though it was a good win,it wasn’t a great review. There were still a lot of work ons.
“It wasn’t in terms of being bad,it was more that we can be so much better than what we provided. It wasn’t necessarily a wake-up call, just highlighting the areas where we can improve.
“They have stats to back that up,and even though it was a good win,it just shows how we can get so much better.”
