The new chief executive will be paid $816,903 a year, plus bonuses. The statement also refers to a $180,000 sign-on incentive loan, which is to be repaid to the company against any short-term bonuses, which could be up to 50 per cent of her base salary.
Best&Less shares opened 1.5 per cent stronger to $2.05 after the announcement, but are still down by more than 30 per cent compared with a year ago.

Berchtold announced her decision to The Iconic’s staff at the company’s Sydney headquarters on Thursday afternoon, citing personal commitments among her reasons for leaving the company.
