By now,Olympic boxer Paul Fleming will have fought at least one bout in the Olympic featherweight competition and this half hour is worth watching if only for the winning smile of a modest battler from Far North Queensland.
His is an inspiring story of a young southpaw who knew what he wanted and, despite a rough-and-tumble childhood, dedicated himself to a lofty goal. And even at age 20 he's still not too big to get a kiss from mum, complete with a smear of lipstick.
He's got hands too fast to see - just ask the kids from Tully - and an articulate sense of himself. Australia has had a long drought in Olympic boxing,so cheer for him. But remember what Paul has already learned, namely that success exists outside the ring, too.
