Hugh Grant is one of many actors speaking out about News of the World.

In the past week,Grant has condemned News Corp's now-defunctNews of the World over claims its reporters hacked mobile phones of politicians, celebrities and murder and terrorism victims. Suing the police has been a means for possible victims to obtain evidence on whether their phones were hacked.

Separately, the actor Jude Law,who has already sued News Corp over phone hacking atNews of the World, filed a new complaint in London on June 17. The latest suit involves News Corp'sSun.

Yesterday News International denied Law's allegations that four articles published in 2005 and 2006 were based on information derived from illegally intercepted voicemails.

''We believe this is a deeply cynical and deliberately mischievous attempt to draw theSun into the phone-hacking issue,''a company spokeswoman said.
