"One of my favourite concepts in life is that of sliding doors,"she toldThe Mail on Sunday'sYou magazine.

"It is interesting to think about the better or worse outcomes had you not had that particular moment. From an acting point of view,who knows? I guess it could have been different. Perhaps I could have joined the National Theatre and become a much more worthy actress."

Since the appearance,Hurley has starred in a number of Hollywood films,includingAustin Powers andBedazzled.She was also the face of Estee Lauder and has appeared on the cover ofVogue three times.

Her latest series,which follows the life and times of a fictitious European Royal family has drawn comparisons to the British Royal Family,but Hurley told the magazines the inspiration were the Carringtons of Dynasty,rather than the Windsors.

"It would be dreamy to think they did behave like us,"she said."But I don't think it's quite as exciting in Windsorland. It's Buckingham Palace on steroids."

Hurley,who is currently single,said she was still close to all her exes. After splitting from Grant after 13 years in 2000,Hurley had a son with American businessman Steve Bing before marrying Indian textile heirArun Nayar whom she divorced in 2011. Hurley was engaged to Australian cricketerShane Warne until their split in December 2013.

The couple are still close,and when asked whether they could rekindle the romance she said:"Never say never. But no,I think we are both set on our new courses in life.

"I got on with him incredibly well. I am far more similar to Shane than the other big loves of my life. We were extremely comfortable with each other.

"We were both in the public eye. I mean in his field he was more successful than me because he was an absolute superstar. But I have never had a day off sick in my entire life,and it's the same with him.

"You can't not play for Australia because you have a headache,forget about it. Sports is a sort of showbusiness. It's your son's birthday but you have to get on a flight to Bombay. So you go."

Hurley is godmother to Patsy Kensit and Liam Gallagher's son Lennon and two of David and Victoria Beckham's sons,Brooklyn and Romeo.
