The liquidation was foreshadowed by Shoes of Prey co-founder Michael Fox,who published a post onMedium on Sunday entitled"Shoes of Prey journey comes to an end".
Mr Fox,Jodie Fox and Mike Knapp launched the startup in 2009,enabling shoppers to customise shoes online and have them delivered within weeks.
However, the startup ran out of funding and in August 2018 stopped taking orders and announced on its website that it was"pausing to consider the options for the future of our business".

Mr Fox said in the Sunday post that while Shoes of Prey had some success as a small startup,it struggled when it attempted to scale into the mass market.
"Despite all the right trends towards personalisation and our success within the customisation niche, contrary to our market research, the mass market fashion customer just didn't respond as we expected,"he said."We learnt the hard way that mass market customers don't want to create, they want to be inspired and shown what to wear."
