It marks another twist in a 10-year battle to find a location for the skating facility, which the then Leichhardt Council first proposed for Callan Park in 2011.
Mr Navarra said it was a"risky"location for a skate park."There are no public toilets,it's near residents,it's near a function centre,"he said."[But] the biggest thing for me is you're tearing down 35 trees, you're ripping up all the grass."
A coalition of Greens,Liberal and independent councillors has a motion at this week's meeting to reverse last month's approval and instead find"a more suitable location for the skate park".
Their motion lists 11 of Le Montage's grievances, including the assertion that"any problem events or behaviour will dramatically impact on the business"and"placing a skate park next to a function and event centre is unheard of".
The rearguard action has sparked an almighty row with Inner West Labor mayor Darcy Byrne, who said it was ridiculous to claim the adjacent skate park would hit the wedding venue's bottom line.
