Frederic House is an aged care service that provides long-term accommodation for about 60 men who are at risk of homelessness.
“The residents are mainly older men who are experiencing homelessness,relying on low pensions and are unable to live independently due to their medical and support needs,” information on the St Vincent de Paul Society website reads.
Positive residents have been transferred to hospital or to NSW Health’s special health accommodation,the spokesperson said. Other residents are isolating and daily testing is ongoing.
Mission Australia’s Common Ground facility at Camperdown for people who have experienced long-term homelessness will exit a 14-day lockdown on Wednesday. The facility was placed in lockdown earlier this month after four residents tested positive.
On Monday,Premier Gladys Berejiklian expressed concern about the virus entering “pockets of vulnerability” in inner Sydney,as the City of Sydney records comparable daily case numbers to local government areas of concern.
Vaccination rates in some inner-city suburbs – notably Darlington,Chippendale and Elizabeth Bay – are lower than in surrounding areas.
