“Certainly running a busy diagnostic pathology unit,we get lots and lots of brains coming through because there was something wrong with a person’s brain. But we almost never see CTE unless there is a history of repetitive head injury. This is something extremely,extremely rare in my experience outside the Sports Brain Bank.
“That’s why I would call for an urgent reassessment of the current position statements when it comes to CTE. I have no reason to believe the proportion of CTE cases is going to go down[in ASBB pledges],if anything I expect it will go up. But I couldn’t say that 100 per cent.”
