The truck was carrying a forklift and the impact of the crash pushed the top of the forklift up through the base of the overpass running over Gympie Arterial Road.
The accident funnelled traffic onto local roads and caused significant delays for motoristsreturning from the Sunshine Coast on the Sunday afternoon.
Transport and Main Road minister Mark Bailey on Friday said final work will be finished by Tuesday and the Linkfield Road overpass reopened next week.
Night works will start on the overpass at midnight on Sunday when the traffic flow is lowest,he said.
“Unfortunately, due to the specific nature of the works, night work will start from 7pm Sunday and the overpass will be fully operational in time for peak-hour traffic on Wednesday,” Mr Bailey said.
“Detours will be in place during the work to ensure motorists can reach their destination.”
While lighter traffic was allowed, heavy vehicles have been detoured for several weeks.
