Tyson Frizell crossed first as he chased a Jake Clifford kick, then Edrick Lee went over to level the scores at 12-12 by the half.

The Warriors were desperate to regain some momentum, and they struck through Dallin Watene-Zelezniak 10 minutes into the second half. If that was a soft try, then the Warriors offered up an even softer one as Kalyn Ponga angled across field to hand off to Enari Tuala, who coasted over virtually untouched.

The 18-16 scoreline put them in front for the first time and when Tuala beat everyone to the kick for his double 12 minutes from time, the Knights could see some light at the end of what has been a long, dark tunnel in 2022.

They were able to cling on and grind out the final 10 minutes as they head into their bye round. That will give them valuable time to continue to work on new combinations including the halves pairing of Jake Clifford and Anthony Milford, which showed some promise.
