A joint investigation byThe Herald and60 Minutes on fraudster Melissa Caddick is nominated for outstanding finance reporting. “Liar Liar:Melissa Caddick and the Missing Millions” was created by Kate McClymont,Tom Steinfort,Michael Evans,Tracey Hannaford and David McMillan.

The Age’s investigative journalist Nick McKenzie was also nominated in this category with60 Minutes’Joel Tozer for their joint investigation,“The Fallen Star”.

TheHerald’s state political editor Alexandra Smith and state political reporter Lucy Cormack are nominated for outstanding political reporting for their work on the former deputy premier John Barilaro’s New York City saga.

TheHerald’s Adam Pengilly has been nominated as a finalist for racing writer of the year,known as the Rod Allen Award.The Age’s Damien Ractliffe is also nominated for this award.

TheHerald’s cartoonist Cathy Wilcox’s cartoon “The PM Holds a Hose” is nominated for the Vince O’Farrell award for the most outstanding cartoon.The Age’scartoonist Megan Herbert is also nominated for this award for her cartoon,“Big week for SCOTUS”.

Good Weekendjournalist Tim Elliot is nominated for outstanding features writing in recognition of his story,Knives Out.

The Age’s investigative journalist John Silvester is a finalist for outstanding columnist,known as the Peter Ruehl award,for “Naked City”.

The Age’sphotographers Louie Douvis and Chris Hopkins have also been recognised as finalists. Douvis’ entry “Displacement” is nominated for the outstanding portrait photography award and Hopkins’ “Anti” is nominated in the outstanding news photography category.

The winners will be announced on August 12.
