The Exhibition station will become a full-time station for the first time,serving the fast-growing apartments and inner-city urban renewal area.
One line will follow a north-south route between the Gold Coast (Varsity Lakes) and Beenleigh,and Nambour and Redcliffe on the Sunshine Coast (blue line).
Another line will connect Ipswich – Rosewood,Ipswich and Springfield trains – to Brisbane Airport and Shorncliffe (green line).
A third line will travel from Ferny Grove through Central and South Bank stations to Cleveland (orange line) and back.
Transport Minister Mark Bailey was expected to outline the Cross River Rail Connect blueprint at budget estimates committee hearings on Tuesday morning.
He will also come under questioning over the purported $5.4 billion cost of the project,amid speculation of a budget blow-out.
