Public records list the owner as Deborah Barlow, representative of the deceased estate of Beverley Barlow, who was a co-owner of the 7-Eleven empire. The home last traded for $22 million in 2015.
A sale at this level eclipses the previous record in the sought-after bayside suburb, set at $25 million last year for a contemporary Kent Avenue residence sold by the Zagame restaurant family.
But the new record may not stand for long,as its neighbour at 16 Moule Avenue has been listed with aguide of $46 million to $50 million.
Buxton Real Estate Brighton selling agent Ben Vieth concluded the latest deal on Monday night after receiving several expressions of interest. He confirmed the sale and said it was within the quoted price range but would not be drawn on the exact price or details of the buyer.
“It is probably the best beachfront property in Brighton,” he said. “The significance of it was that it was absolute beachfront.”
