Labor’s funding promise over five years will almost double the amount the government spends on the state’s 20 health clinics,which are mainly in western Sydney and regional NSW. The government’s most recent funding allocation was $11 million for one year.
The health centres provide a safe and private setting for women to access vital physical and mental health services,as well as domestic,family and sexual violence support.
Perrottet said more high-risk domestic violence offenders would be electronically monitored through the Coalition’s election commitment to expand the program.
Currently,there are only 45 devices available in NSW. The expansion of the program would cost $20 million and would start on July 1 if the Coalition is re-elected.
