Upon her temporary return, she will speak to Parker’s Carrie Bradshaw over the phone,Variety reports. This follows a text exchange shared with Bradshaw and Jones – who had become estranged – in the first season ofAnd Just Like Thatand the finale, when the pair decided to meet and reconcile.
Jones was a mainstay of the originalSex and the Cityseries, known for her frequent wild sexual encounters and sarcastic manner. The show, which followed the antics of four female friends navigating work and relationships in New York City, ran for six seasons from 1998 to 2004 and was made into two movies, all of which Cattrall featured in.
However, the Canadian actress publicly announced she would step away from the cast in 2016,citing a poorly constructed third script – which she argued did not do her powerhouse character justice – as the reason for her departure.

A publicrift between Cattrall and Parker ensued, with Parker – the star of the landmark show – admitting she and the rest of the crew did not ask her co-star to return for the reboot.
