William vanished in September 2014 from the home of his foster grandmother in the tiny NSW Mid North Coast town of Kendall. He is presumed dead.
Strike Force Rosann, set up to investigate the three-year-old’s disappearance, now suspects he died in a tragic accident,Nine Newsreported on Tuesday.
Rosann’s detectives also suspect William’s foster mother, who cannot be identified, covered up the boy’s death and dumped his body in bushland near the home.
The foster mother, speaking through her solicitor Sharon Ramsden on Wednesday morning, called on police to disclose the evidence against her.
“The foster mother and her legal representatives call for disclosure of the evidence which police suggest forms the basis of any criminal proceedings,” the statement reads.
“The foster mother has always, and maintains, she has nothing to do with William’s disappearance. She desperately urges the police to resume the investigation into finding out what happened to William.”
