A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman believed the man had been travelling at speed before he clipped a gutter.
He was believed to have gone over the handlebars of the device,a hired e-scooter.
Paramedics could not say if the man had been wearing a helmet or if he was under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
