“The AFL confirms Tarryn Thomas is under investigation following an allegation of inappropriate behaviour,” Allen said.
“After serving the North Melbourne Football Club a notice to interview late yesterday, the[integrity unit] sought to speak to Thomas this morning however Thomas’ legal representatives were not available today.
“Thomas will be interviewed by the[unit] as soon as possible early next week.”
Thomas is not training with the Kangaroos, but he has not been officially stood down. AFL Players Association boss Paul Marsh told SEN on Thursday morning it was important to let the process play out rather than jump to conclusions.
“We now need to work through this set of allegations and as I said there are two sides to every story,” Marsh said.
Thomas was suspended by North Melbourne in February amid abuse allegations, including accusations of “serious and confronting” threats of violence towards women.
In July,Victoria Police dropped a charge after he agreed to make a $1000 donation to charity. He had been charged with threatening to distribute an intimate image of another person.
