More than 500 dignitaries from around the world will gather at Westminster Abbey to pay their final respects.
Here’s who we can expect to see at the Queen’s funeral.
Australians
Prime MinisterAnthony Albanese,Governor-GeneralDavid Hurley and the acting high commissioner to the United Kingdom,Lynette Wood,all received an official invite.
Albanese,Hurley and Wood were among the Australians to secure invitations to the funeral,despite a warning from the UK government that only one senior representative per country and their partner could attend given the limited capacity and overwhelming demand.
As a Commonwealth realm,the one representative limit did not apply to Australia.
Paralympic champion and tennis golden slam winnerDylan Alcott and seven Australian of the Year nominees - 2022 Senior Australian of the YearVal Dempsey,2021 Senior Australian of the year DrMiriam-Rose Ungunmerr Baumann,2022 Australian of the Year Local HeroShanna Whan,Queensland’s local hero nominee,Saba Abraham,and Tasmanian counterpartKim Smith,South Australia’s Young Australian of the Year,Trudy Lin,and Western Australia’s 2021 Australian of the Year ProfessorHelen Milroy - will also be in attendance.
Controversial former soldierBen Roberts-Smith will travel to London to participate in the official commemorations. A select group of Australian war veterans was invited to the funeral commemorations by the Victoria Cross and George Cross Association on behalf of the Queen,who served as patron of the UK-based group since its founding in 1956.
GaiandRobert Waterhousewere invited by Lord Chamberlain Andrew Parker to attend the funeral and will be travelling with Albanese. Fellow Australian Racing Hall of Fame trainerChris Waller was invited but announced on Thursday he would not be attending due to COVID-19 “related circumstances”.
World leaders
Besides Albanese,New Zealand Prime MinisterJacinda Ardern and Canadian Prime MinisterJustin Trudeauwill be in the UK to pay their respects.
US PresidentJoe Biden will attend with First LadyJill Biden. Former presidentsBarack ObamaandDonald Trumpwill not attend,the White House confirmed.
From the G7,French PresidentEmmanuel Macron,European Commission PresidentUrsula von der Leyen,German PresidentFrank-Walter Steinmeier and Italian President Sergio Mattarella will also be present.
Elsewhere,from around the globe:Brazilian PresidentJair Bolsonaro,Turkish PresidentRecepTayyip Erdoğan,South Korean PresidentYoon Suk-Yeol.
Indian Prime MinisterNarendra Modi is yet to confirm whether he will be there,and it is unknown whether Chinese PresidentXi Jinping received an invitation. Russian PresidentVladimir Putin did not.
The UK is inviting a representative from North Korea to attend the funeral,but Afghanistan,Syria and Venezuela will not be given an invitation,a foreign office source said.
The invitation for communist North Korea would be at an ambassadorial level. This means that North Korean leaderKim Jong-un will not attend. Pyongyang has an embassy in West London.
Syria and Venezuela would not be invited because Britain does not currently have diplomatic relations with those states. Afghanistan was not invited due to the current political situation.
They join Russia,Myanmar and Belarus in not being asked to attend.
Invites were also not sent to Belarus or Myanmar.
The royal family
The late Queen’s four children –King Charles III,Princess Anne,Prince Andrew andPrince Edward – will all be present at the funeral,as well as their respective spouses:Camilla,the Queen Consort;Sophie,Countess of Wessex andSir Tim Laurence. The Duke of York’s ex-wifeSarah Ferguson is also expected to attend.
The late Queen’s grandchildren will also be in attendance at the service –Prince William,Prince Harry,PeterPhillips,ZaraTindall,PrincessBeatrice,PrincessEugenie,Lady Louise Windsor andJames,Viscount Severn.
Spouses of close family,includingCatherine,the Princess of Wales andMeghan,the Duchess of Sussex will also be present to pay their respects.
Other royals expected to attend include the late Queen’s cousins:Duke of Kent,Prince and Princess Michael of Kent,Princess Alexandra andPrince Richard,Duke of Gloucester.
Other royal guests
Japanese EmperorNaruhito,as well as members from royal families across Europe including Denmark’sQueen Margrethe,CrownPrince Frederik and CrownPrincess Mary,Belgium’sKing Philippe andQueen Mathilde,and Monaco’sPrince Albert II andPrincess Charlene will also attend.
