As the number of domestic violence deaths rises,Australian women could be forgiven for feeling like they are under siege. But governments are playing catch up.
Why not turn past approaches upside down,and have the abused person and children stay in the family home,while funds go into providing residential institutions to house the violent perpetrators.
The female members of Chris Minns’ cabinet are optimistic that years of inaction on domestic violence is about to change. Let’s hope they are right.
