Alleged shooter in daylight ‘execution-style’ gangland killing charged with murder

A man has been arrested and charged with murder after a 24-year-old was gunned down in broad daylight while he sat in his car in western Sydney last year.

Marvin Oraiha was shot dead outside an Elizabeth Hills home on the afternoon of May 22,in whatpolice described as an “execution-style” gangland shooting.

Police allege Oraiha was shot several times. Paramedics tried to save him,but he died at the scene.

On Tuesday,they detained 23-year-old Joseph Lima – their sixth arrest over the incident – during a search warrant at a Glen Alpine home. He was taken to Campbelltown Police Station where he was charged with murder.

While hunting for their suspects last June,police released CCTV footage showing two men in black running into a presumed getaway car after the fatal shooting.

Vision was also shared of three vehicles that police believe were used as getaway cars.

Police allege a white Audi A1 was initially used to confront Oraiha before it was driven to Green Valley and set alight.

It is alleged two men then ran through a nearby park to Cordelia Crescent,where they were seen getting into a parked black Toyota Prado.

It is alleged the car then travelled to Lewis Street in Bonnyrigg Heights where it was also set alight.

New footage has been released as police search for the gunmen who shot dead a 24-year-old in south-west Sydney in May.

The third car is described as a dark blue Honda Accord,which left Lewis Street towards Wilson Road in Bonnyrigg Heights.

Lima did not apply for bail at Campbelltown Local Court and it was formally refused. He is next due to next face court on May 15.
