It was a black pistol,pointed toward the aisle of the train travelling on the Eastern Suburbs and Illawarra line.
“This poor woman who had been sitting across from him was saying out loud,‘Oh,that man left a gun on the train’,” one witness on the train toldThe Sydney Morning Herald.
The woman alerted other passengers who all jumped from their seats and began asking what the gun’s owner looked like.
She was overwhelmed and gestured the man may have had a beard.
Passengers alerted the guards at Redfern as the train continued its journey into Sydney.
NSW Police say the gun was a gel blaster.
“About 9am today (Friday 22 March 2024),police were called to Redfern railway station,following reports a gel blaster had been located,” NSW Police said in a statement.
