The Northbridge Hotel

Good Food hat15/20

Contemporary$$$

Having decided this is a serious steak restaurant, the owners have revamped the dining room, swapping starched white linen for rough-hewn,bare wooden table tops. So meaty! Pub standards are excellent, such as the tender salt-and-pepper squid, and the nachos with just the right meat/guacamole/corn chip ratio. Steaks range up to a whopping 900-gram option for $69 (for two),or you can go the more modest pasture-fed rump - a steal at $10. That way, you'll have room for the very pleasing dessert selection:banoffee pie, chocolate pudding, passionfruit panna cotta, sorbets and ice-creams. Lovely outdoor courtyard for summer dining.
