The suspension, which was supported by the Greens and the DLP,will apply to the remainder of Thursday's sitting after the 4pm deadline.
But Mr Davis flagged further sanctions against Mr Lenders if he remains defiant.
"This is not just one shot in the dark, this is a motion which foreshadows in effect a continuum in terms of pursuing what is an important matter,"he said.
Labor MP Matthew Viney said the motion was a"ruse to kick along what was a political witch-hunt from the beginning".
A review panel, chaired by retired federal court judge Ron Merkel QC,cleared the state government in October of any bias in its gaming tender process, which was initially delayed by probity concerns.
Mr Viney said the opposition and minority parties were now attacking process and procedures because everything else had failed and Mr Lenders was being pilloried for"doing his job".
"The leader of the government is following the law,he is following and abiding by his oath of office,"Mr Viney told parliament.
