The Village Larder

With the finest coffee in town and Mount Macedon framed in the front window,the Larder is sitting pretty. Chef Marika Oost delivers country comfort food with creative flair:delectable house-made crumpets are slathered in whipped cinnamon butter and banana jam;a ‘toasty with the mosty’ delivers ham-and-cheese melt,with fried egg and onion marmalade. Lunch on a tender Western Plains pork ciabatta with rhubarb relish,or a ricotta-enriched salad of slow-roasted leeks,mushrooms,crisp brussels sprouts,spuds and garlicky aioli. Behold the beauty of the cake counter before you leave - the yoghurt passionfruit cake and scones are exemplary.
